Does my phone support eSIM?
Most iPhones from the XR onwards and many recent Android phones (Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, Motorola Edge and others) support eSIM.
Dial *#06#: if an EID number appears, your phone is compatible.
Good to know
Your phone must be unlocked to use an eSIM from another provider. If you got it on a contract or instalment plan, check with your network before you travel.
The travel eSIM is data only: you can still call over WhatsApp, FaceTime or any other app.
What travelling fans ask us
Is this the same as my Hibs Connect SIM plan?
No. The travel eSIM is a separate, one-off prepaid data pass for trips abroad. You don't need a Hibs Connect plan to buy one, and buying one doesn't change your everyday plan. It works on any unlocked phone that supports eSIM.
Do I lose my usual number?
No. The travel eSIM is added as a second, data-only line. Your usual SIM or eSIM stays in the phone, and you can still receive calls and texts if your plan allows it.
When do the days start counting?
From the first time the eSIM connects to a network at your destination, not from the day you buy it. You can buy and install it days before the trip.
How quickly will I get it?
Straight after payment you'll see your QR code on screen, and we email it to you too. If nothing arrives within a few hours, check your spam folder, message us on WhatsApp or write to us at support@hibsconnect.com.
Which currency do I pay in?
Pounds sterling (GBP). The price you see on this page is the price you pay, with no roaming add-ons or monthly fee.
What if I run out of data?
You can buy another eSIM for the same destination from this page at any time.
Does it work across several countries in Europe?
Yes: the regional Europe plan covers over 30 countries with a single eSIM, ideal for a European away trip or a multi-country holiday. There are also regional plans for other parts of the world and a Global plan covering more than 100 countries.
Are there plans for the whole year?
Yes. The annual Global plans last 365 days from the first connection: ideal if you follow the team abroad several times a season. You'll find them under any destination the Global plan covers.
